MyJamestown.net is a constantly expanding and growing new service for our community and we have to make sure to keep things up to date in order to handle the new features that are being installed everyday.
As a result, we sometimes have to make changes to the structure of our databases and programming code to accomodate the newest changes to the site.
This weekend, I've made some significant new changes to the technology of the site and I was forced to change the structure of our user database. Your account's privacy has been kept intact and all your information has been maintained, however, some things may have gotten changed by accident. The following items may be different:
The e-mail address that you use for your user account may have gotten changed to a previous address in one of the backed up databases. Whichever address you are receiving this e-mail at is the address that has been saved into your user profile. Please log on and make the necessary changes so the correct e-mail address is in your profile.
Your password may have been reset to a default password. If that happened, you will have received a seperate e-mail with that password listed inside. Please look for that e-mail, or go to the Community Page on MyJamestown.net and click the link for a forgotten password to receive your password information.
Your Full Name, First Name, Last Name etc. may have been reverted to a previous version of your name on one of the sites that I host. Because I merged several databases together, I found that the program "picked and choosed" the names that it wanted from previous versions of the database.
I apologize for the inconvenience that this has caused, but I assure this will not happen again in the future.
These changes were necessary to make the MyJamestown.net service more secure and more capable of handling some of the features that you will see added in the next couple weeks. I thank you for your patience and hope to see you logged on soon!
